Stress Inoculation Training

SIT (Stress Inoculation Training) seems to have a lot of good support for it, and its not surprising as the conceptual background is solid. The basic theory behind SIT is cognitive psychology, and it has been well researched. Realistic expectations and feedback cycles are good, the timescale is also highly pragmatic. There are no exaggerations of efficacy, and the limitations to certain interventions have been delineated in detail. There are cognitive and affective aspects to it, with a good deal of flexible concern over prior experience. It has been tried and tested in many realistic settings such as psychiatric hospitals, where it was rigorously tested in the field. Most importantly, the lab testing shows strong efficacy. So it looks conclusive that SIT is a useful intervention.
